What Kind Of Leader Are You? PDF Print E-mail

When I sit and listen to newly appointed leaders, complain about the people under their leadership I often hear that their leadership style is clashing with the employees they are complaining about.  Maybe this is because they operate under the “I treat everyone the same” policy.  This is probably the scariest thing a good HR Director could ever hear, because what that tells me is that they don’t know how to lead with influence, they just know how to misuse the power they have been given.

In this hour approaching midnight, when the shadows of our encroaching Gomorrah judgment are racing faster than w_hutchins_104.jpgthe reapers in the field can harvest the ready grain…

Midnight’s Church seems cursed with tunic bearing clerics who speak eloquent, apocalyptic phrases concerning the business of congregational life, Edifice-wear, and all too infrequently of the Celestial City above.

"IF" PDF Print E-mail

bishopsmith2_edited-2.jpgThe famed poet, Rudyard Kipling composed one of the most memorable masterpieces in literary history when he wrote the poem - IF. The message contained in his notable composition has been both a challenge and inspiration to millions.

On that word "if" hinges success or failure! Someone has well said, "if” is the biggest word in the dictionary. Man's dreams can come to a screeching halt at its mention, while others are driven onward by its challenge!

There are times when “if” is an honest inquisitor of dubious circumstances. Other times it can be a "lingering cancer” to positive faith. It is the latter that is the object of serious concern as more frequently "if” has become a weapon against Bible faith. Long before thoughtful people disregard anointed scripture, they first tolerate doubt. All “faith” must stand the test of study and be proven by the inerrant Word of God. When that is done, to further doubt is “raw” unbelief, the cancer to spiritual hope.

HOLIER THAN GOD

Below are some snapshots of the upcoming doctrinal thesis on Biblical holiness (of life and outward anthonylangston_edited-2.jpgappearance) by Anthony Langston. Anthony welcomes your comments.

A favorite text of the proponents of traditional positions in any denomination is,"Remove not the ancient landmarks of our fathers." ť(Prov. 22:28)

The question begs asking, "Who are the 'our fathers?'" Who are the fathers of the 20th -21st century Pentecostalism? Is it pastors from the 50's & 60's or district and national leaders?

Passionate About Personal Development! PDF Print E-mail

Have you ever gone to a conference, read a book, or listened to a CD, and learned something you “knew” would help you, maybe even change your life … and then did nothing?! Would you say you’ve done this more than once? And what was the definition of insanity again?

Why do we do this? Because in the desire to implement what we’ve learned, we prematurely turn our attention to altering our “behavior” (or surface responses) instead of allowing our newfound lessons to transform our “beliefs” (or underlying foundation). Ultimately, however, because our beliefs drive and determine our behavior, the two cannot remain out of alignment. So when we attempt to behave in contrast to our beliefs, we’re left with two options: continue to beat ourselves up for failing, or return to our original behavior.
