It is rare in an individual’s life when they have the opportunity to explore new vistas of holy revelation and revel in the goodness of God in new dimensions! Often we, as mortals, are bound by the surly bonds of immediate need and stringent agenda’s that make no time for the holy encounter God desires for each of His children. As a result, we often carry pains and hurt whose calloused, corrosive hands attempt to taint and cover all that is good in our lives. Bitterness and Unforgiveness are mercenaries from hell who wish to spoil us, the children of God. Our culture is a living testimony of a people wallowing in the forlorn. Broken dreams, battered lives, lost loves seem to be the fare for the Broadway of life. These world travelers live a life that is haunted by the “what if’s” and “what might have been”; the common anthem that spoils pure hope, true love, and righteous liberty.

Brave men and women of God today are making great efforts to travel on a thoroughfare not manyw_hutchins_104.jpg have found. A journey at times that could be called lonely; at other times, even called harsh because of the confrontation of Truth – but a journey nonetheless that rewards its pilgrim with glimpses of a life filled with pure love and unmerited favor. A journey worth the toil that rids us of our “soil,” for in it we recognize that we are nothing more than “Adam’s seed” whose best promise is to return to dust & darkness. But Jesus, in His all-wise love, reaches us and shows us His nature by showing us agape love extended from His pierced hands of brokenness.

It is astonishing to note how many people have been spoiled in this Christian journey as a result of not knowing the “love” of God. The “love” of God creates new beginnings, a new birthing place for each of us. A new birth offers new life with new joy expressed in a new and better way. And yet, many are reluctant to venture into God’s new life, for it is a radical, new kind of existence that is always challenged by the Pharisaical voices of dead religion. When we should be pressed by the overwhelming dread of our sin, most often we are pressed by those ideologues who want to exempt us from our new birth, new life experience. They write libelous articles, books and tracts disclaiming brotherhood with anyone seeking God’s new and better way!

Irregardless, the time of a “new beginning” – yes, a “new birth” has come. We move along the strange path we barely understand, for we have never traveled it before. The heavy walls of self-doubt and inner confusion constrict in strangling closeness.  Why, why, why, God? Why this pain? Why the dark mirror of repentance that makes us see ourselves as we are?  We cry in the unsure, unfocused, crushing void. Yet it is a warm darkness that aches for the anguish to die. There is a washing of inner light. The long umbilical cord that bound us to dying is cut. Life rises like a phoenix from the ashes of things confessed and done with. We are born again. And what is this golden glory?  It is the moment of birth, the gift at the end of our waiting. Now we belong to Jesus Christ – not in words of religious confession or the piety of self, but in a bond of love signaled by the Ever-Present One and His disciples who surround us with their own testimonies of deliverance and joyous freedom. For the first time, we love and adore the Holy One who labored to bring us such transparent life.

The great glory of our faith is the name Immanuel, for God in Christ, came to be with us. You see, He is not only with us in our times of jubilee, but He is with us in our times of horrible failure and great despair. He has always been there, for He is our fellow struggler! He is the God of our human condition and need! As a result, He descended in love to the point of our need so that we could rise and shout “I am free.”

Put down the voices of fear, doubt and unbelief and begin today to trust that God has called you into His Kingdom for this hour. Consider your worth to Him, His Kingdom, and your generation. Will you invest your life in the soil of a dying generation?

Join the revolution! We need your help to move this generation from religion to relationship; forever communing with the Holy and being healed in their spirits by His love working in us!

This article is uplifting. We are a church body and office moving from religion to relationship. The greatest deomnstrations of God will be as a result of those that are yes moving into relationship. Even church business is no longer church business but God is looking for those to acknowledge His Preeminent Authority to be welcomed in church office. That is when the exponential blessings and miracles of God will begin to take place.
It's occuring around the world because in many parts of the world the government is on Jesus' shoulders and not the other way around; so God moves in ways we are looking to see here in America.
God bless you and your ministry as obviously your obedience to the Holy Spirit shall continue to move you into deeper depths and higher hights of His Glory.

2. Just Wondering
I have been looking at some of the web sites that have references to this site. While I see that some express the accepted way to salvation, I am seeing a lack of outward holiness as far as type of dress, cut hair and make-up. Can someone explain to me how we can move closer to God while we move closer to the world in our look? It is difficult to be set apart and to be sanctified as God would have us be if we adopt secular fashion.

Thanks for your time.

Paul

3. Grace not works!
The love of God breaks all type of man made religion! People are looking for true Love! Down to earth relationships... Not a man panding on a pulpit stating that your looks will get you to heaven! I am not saying that everything goes no.God gave us a brain to use it to read to study...to conclude is just simple this> we are still living under grace last time I checked.. not under the Laws of man.. Thank you Jesus for you Love us soo much.

4. Response to Just Wondering

Paul,

What an excellent observation! The succinct answer is simply the New Church Order is a fellowship, not a denomination.

Since many who are raised solely within a denominational environment do not understand the difference I will attempt to briefly elaborate.

For example, if this were a denomination I might feel compelled to answer your question with a lengthy discussion on the writings of Paul, debating the differences between Law and Grace, followed by endless non-profitable debates on the pros and cons of dictating standards by means of written articles of faith versus the equally compelling philosophy of setting a personal example of holiness and urging others to “follow me as I follow Christ.”

As you have noticed from our website that is not what a fellowship is all about.

It is no secret that many in this particular fellowship happen to come from various backgrounds including several from what would be considered “holiness” backgrounds.

I can speak for no one but myself in this regard. But my personal background for example is a heritage that would be called fifth generation “classical” Pentecostal. It is interesting that those of us who enjoy this fellowship have been labeled from these very same “classical” Pentecostals as “betrayers of our heritage.” Articles have been written to slander good men and statements such as “they turned their backs on us” have been issued from these various “classical Pentecostal” denominations. Ironically, by so doing they tarnish the memories of those they claim to defend. May I explain?

Over forty years ago, my great-grandmother would tell me of first hand accounts of what it was like in the early 1900s being a Holiness, woman preacher. One of the more interesting stories was that of a Bro Bell. He was one of the first Superintendents of the Assemblies of God; he received what he called a revelation about the “Oneness of God” and baptism in Jesus’ Name and even wrote a position piece on the topic. Later some of his brethren convinced him he was wrong. He recanted his revelation and soon after, there began an effort to expel all such believers from the Assemblies midst. The part of this history that is most often left out is that these brethren did NOT want to leave the Assemblies of God.They wanted to work beside their “brethren,” but were given no choice but to leave.

Paul, I hesitate to bring up this example because no doubt some will twist it and use it as a launching pad to open old wounds and start endless debates while TOTALLY missing the point! Namely, that these dear men went out and started individual churches and movements which grew and flourished. Eventually some of these movements consolidated into what has become the modern day landscape of American Pentecostal organizations. Some individual leaders unfortunately cultivated the doctrine of isolation, which has ultimately led to a church culture where today, if these men of old were to rise among their ranks, they would be labeled ecumenical, backsliders, and without standards when they would suggest openly fellowshipping with those who had different theological backgrounds and understandings.

So, let me reiterate, the simple answer is that New Church Order is a fellowship, not a denomination. No one is asking anyone to leave any organization or denomination to fellowship with us.

While I do not pretend to be the official spokesperson for the NCO it appears to me instead of adherence to written standards the NCO prizes unity without uniformity, a chance to celebrate all of the marvelous gifts and personalities within the body of Christ. As far as I know, the main qualifications seem to be a genuine life changing New Testament encounter with Jesus Christ, growing to be more like Him in transparency and unconditional love and actively reaching the World through His Love instead of just sitting around and talking about it.

I hope this addresses your observation.
