| The Midnight Cry |

In this hour approaching midnight, when the shadows of our encroaching Gomorrah judgment are racing faster than Midnight’s Church seems cursed with tunic bearing clerics who speak eloquent, apocalyptic phrases concerning the business of congregational life, Edifice-wear, and all too infrequently of the Celestial City above. To you who are citizens made ready for the Kingdom to come, be sure that your hopes are fastened in faith and rooted in sound doctrine. For this generation suffers the worst of all losses; the loss of those passionate lips of previous generations who are slowly being silenced by time and the grave. No longer does the foam of prophecy form on the thin lips of elders who were self-denying men. Their broad shoulders and statuesque frames no longer carry the church’s burdens. No, those once piercing deep-set eyes have glanced to yonder shore and once seen, have cast off their earthly shroud like the low, dark cellars of Caesar cast off its punitive confinement when the pen of apostles began to be moved by the Angels. Oh’ how I pray that this generation cast off that old conviction of insufficiency. Stand up! Stand up in this hour of great revival – it is a high event. It is a charged moment. This is a significant time. Intensify your yearning for the Master. May your grip be stronger and your fingers more nimble to do His bidding and His work! Assemble the eager and the hungry. An innumerable company of angelic hosts wait to join you in your fields. Call on the Name. Let it be your first phrase in the morning. Notify your day with a proclamation from the tongue – for surely angels will inspire your movement and edify your walk with the glory of the only Begotten. Vacate the Villa and race toward the Vineyard! It’s all about the Vineyard… where the Vine feeds the branches. Get in the vineyard! Let it be said that this 21st century Church has refused the happiness and safety found in having “good church” and we make ourselves hoarse with exaltation and exhortation – striving to reach the lost and dying! May it be said of us on that Day of Eternal Reckoning… “Their precipitous sacrifice stirred their communities to Jesus emulation. Well done, thou good and faithful servants!” Last update: Sunday, 02 September 2007
