As we are in the middle of our North American Holiday Season, I cannot help but reflect on all thesuber-125x125_copy.jpg awesome blessings this past year has brought to us!

We have prayed together, shared dreams together, preached together, and wept together as a band of brothers sharing the same spiritual DNA. It has been such an amazing time of connecting with new friends while reconnecting with some old ones that walls of religion had separated us from before.

As I began thinking about all I have to be grateful for this year, it dawned on me how much of the things I see as the greatest creations and events of this year stem from one creative source. Scripture and good manners admonish us to give honor to which honor is due, so I feel compelled to publicly appreciate a friend who has done so much for all of us who have found this brotherhood.

Pastor Wendell Hutchins has been a very dear friend for over 17 years. His intellect is legendary and his tenacity and loyalty are without question. I am privileged to share a bond with him as a younger brother in life skills and ministry. Every time I am exposed to his pulpit skills or his intuition in business, I ‘m aware of how much more I need to learn.

This year we have celebrated the launch and development of Acts29tv, which has revolutionized ministry on the web. This concept is a creation from the ministry and business genius of Wendell Hutchins. I was privileged to be a small part of the idea that has become such an awesome platform for New Testament ministries worldwide. It would not have even launched, much less succeeded without the direction and oversight of Pastor Hutchins and his awesome COC team.

In addition, we are entering into our second year as a coalition of creative thinkers and collaborators for end-time harvest in New Church Order. Time has flown by as many have launched new ministries, transitioned from old paradigms and denominations to new life and inspiration. This entire concept of fellowship without control and the web-based network has been a labor of love and passion for Wendell Hutchins. The Church of Champions has sacrificed innumerable hours of time and tens of thousands of dollars in investing into the technology such an undertaking has demanded. The COC staff has proven that one can maintain an apostolic identity while pursuing excellence and relevancy!

As for me, personally the greatest highlight of my year was my April trip to Uganda where we ordained over 40 pastors into NCO East Africa. We also completed a local Church Building for Pastor Judah Ntsibatzi as well as paying the school tuition for 50 children. As well, we left two mobile Bible Schools in Africa, all of which was funded by Pastor Hutchins and Church Of Champions. I will always be grateful for their love and trust in our ministry to allow us to go as their Ambassador.

These are only a few of the reasons I am grateful for the life and ministry of Wendell Hutchins. I did not ask his permission to write this article because I am well aware of his hesitation to focus much attention upon himself. So, will you join with me the next few days by expressing your love and thanks to our friend, brother, and co-laborer, Dr. Wendell Hutchins?

Thank You

Jonathan Suber

1. Giving Honor to Whom Honor is Due
Pastor Wendell Hutchins is undoubtedly one of the most genuine, talented, and gifted men I have ever met in any field. What sets him head and shoulders above others is that rare combination of being both a visionary and a doer.

This is combined with great personal courage and willpower. I have personally seen him mount a pulpit and deliver a powerful message while in such physical pain, that most would have been in a hospital with an IV.

A man who instead of being content saying, “if only” or “why not”, instead demands “how do we” and “what’s the first step”. He is simultaneously an innovator, and guardian of the old paths, a man not afraid to use 21st century methods to preach a 1st century gospel.

He has surrounded himself with a talented, dedicated, and anointed leadership team at Church of Champions. The foundation at CoC has been dug deep, and wide, and it does not take a seer to note it shall shortly be a multi-campus megachurch.

Probably one of the most under appreciated men of our generation. The ministries he has birthed truly have a global impact. From broadcasting the Acts 2:38 message around the world 24/7, to the Emmaus and Beyond experience at Church of Champions, which is the most life altering weekend in Christendom and just has to be experienced, for there are no adequate words to describe it.

Above all while he has the ability to rebuke with Apostolic authority (as any loving Shepard occasionally must) he is at his core one of the most caring, genuine, and real men I have ever met.

It has been an honor and privilege to have him as a pastor the past three years.

2. The Truth
I thank Jesus for my brother, Bro. Hutchins. He has been there for me through thick and thin while I was being worked on by the Spirit. The transformation led me out of my home church into GloryLand, Rev. Barley's church.

Bro. Hutchins is a man of great honor, one which has called me friend and invited me to partake as he has allowed. Such men cannot and should not be forgotten.

Right now, I await the next few days. My Dad is near death, his lungs and chest now 95% filled with pneumonia. The cancer he has mixed with this has caused us to move him to hospice come the morning. I am reminded of men like my pastor, Rev. Barley, Bro. Hutchins, Bro. Daniel Alicea, and others who have shown me what true church, true believers, are all about.

Bless you Bro. Hutchins. Bless you, Bro. Suber. Shalom to you and your's this holiday season.
